Pastelmat Board
A premium surface specially developed for pastellists. Its unique velvety surface, made from a fine coating of cellulose fibres, has the ability to grab and hold multiple layers of even the softest pastels. You are able to apply multiple layers without a saturation effect which significantly reduces the need for fixative, allowing the colours to remain vibrant.
It is acid free, lightfast and water resistant which allows for the use of wet media such as acrylics and watercolours etc. Pastelmat has the added bonus of being gentle on both fingers and blending tools. Pastelmat board facilitates working at an easel, and will make your pastel drawings more robust and easily transportable. The board surface works well for techniques that require a rigid surface.
